A note from Cam —

Welcome to Honeybee Home! I’m Cam Jaeger (they/them), a full spectrum (birth and postpartum) doula who is deeply passionate about supporting and advocating for families and young children during transitional and foundational periods of their lives.

I am a CAPPA trained, Carrot (IL) certified birth & postpartum doula with over 13 years of experience caring for infants and young children. In my background as a full-time nanny and a foster parent, I have supported families with multiple children, including newborns, preemies, and neurodivergent and disabled children. Working closely with a diverse array of families has allowed me to adapt to various family dynamics and effectively support each family’s unique needs.

I partner with individuals and families to ensure they feel as supported and prepared for their birth as possible. In my role as a labor doula, I work to provide comfort, information, and advocate for the birthing person and their family.

I believe that all families can benefit from additional support during the postpartum period or “fourth trimester”. Beyond the additional support and guidance in the areas of newborn care, light house work, and overnight support, research has shown that birthing parents receiving support from a postpartum doula experience a rate of postpartum depression/postpartum anxiety (PPD/PPA) that is 57.5% less than their peers without the support of a postpartum doula.

One of my priorities in starting Honeybee Home is ensuring that families who may not otherwise be able to access doula care are able to receive the support they need during this transitional period of their lives. If you are interested in sliding-scale or free doula services or donating to provide these services to families in the Chicagoland area, please reach out via the inquiry form on the “Postpartum Doula Offerings” page.
